What Is Random Video Chat?

A live video conversation in which a matching system, not you, picks the other person, and you meet one person at a time.
In a random video chat you skip the choosing. Instead of scrolling through profiles and deciding who to call, you start matching and the system pairs you with someone available at that moment. You find out who it is when the chat opens.
Random describes how you meet, not how many people are in the room. Some sites use “random chat” for open group rooms; on 1on1Chat every random match is a 1v1 video chat, with two people and nobody else in the call. A chat can be random and one-on-one at the same time. 02Step by step
How Random Matching Works
From tapping Start to talking with someone, using the labels you will see on screen. The first three steps happen once; the last three repeat for every match.
Once per visit
Open the match screen
Start Random Video Chat opens the match screen. On a first visit the app usually sets up a visitor session for you, so you can start matching without signing in.
Choose Video or Audio
Tabs switch between Video, Audio and Text. Video and Audio show your free matches left. Tap to start, or click anywhere on a computer.
Allow camera and microphone
The first time, a Permissions Required panel appears. Tap Allow, then confirm your browser’s prompt. Said no before? Tap Try it again.
Every match
Wait for a match
You see your own preview while the app searches; Cancel Match takes you back. Wait times vary. Sometimes a short preview of your match appears first.
Talk one-on-one
The chat opens with just the two of you. If a word gets lost, type it in the message bar.
Next, or end the chat
Next unlocks after a short countdown and finds someone new. You can end the chat any time. If the other person leaves or the connection drops, the app rematches you.
Next takes you back to step 4 with someone new.

Random video chat is free to start, but not unlimited. This is how one match plays out, and where coins can come in.
Before you match
Limited free matches
Video and Audio matching include a limited number of free matches, counted on the match screen. Next starts a new match, so it can use one too.
When the chat opens
A free period
A matched chat can start with free time, counted down on the call screen. Its length is shown in the app and can differ between accounts.
Seconds before it ends
A heads-up in the chat
A message tells you the per-minute price in coins and how many seconds remain before charging starts.
If you keep talking
Coins per minute
Staying past the free period uses coins at the price shown. End the chat before then if you do not want to pay.
When your free matches run out
Starting another video or voice match may bring up a top-up prompt. Coins are bought inside the app, where packages and prices are listed. Browsing women’s profiles stays free. Here is everything that is free, and when coins apply.

Better Conversations and Safer Matching
Open with something easy
The first seconds are awkward for both of you. Say hi, smile, and ask one simple question. Keep your face in the light and the camera at eye level.
- “Hi! Where are you chatting from?”
- “What does your day look like?”
- “That view behind you looks nice. Where is it?”
Know when to move on
Not every match clicks, and that is normal. Say a friendly goodbye, then tap Next or end the chat. If someone is rude or pushy, leave right away.
Keep personal details private
Leave your full name, address, workplace, phone number and social accounts out of the chat. Check what the camera shows behind you, assume anything on camera could be recorded, and never send money.
If your camera or mic will not start
Allow both in your browser’s site settings and reload. Close other apps using the camera, and avoid in-app browsers inside social apps.
Report or block someone you met
Tap the history icon on the match screen to open your Call history, open her profile from there, and use the profile menu to report her with a reason or block her.

Yes, but not inside random matching, where you cannot pick or filter. Use Browse Women, open a profile and tap Video Chat. The call begins if she answers.
What happens when my free matches run out?
Starting another video or voice match may bring up a top-up prompt. You can buy coins in the app, or keep browsing profiles, which is free.
How can I stay safer during a random chat?
Keep identifying details off camera, never send money, and leave any chat that feels wrong. To report or block someone later, find her in your Call history and use her profile menu.
