Community Guidelines for Respectful 1-on-1 Video Chat

1on1Chat is for adults who want a respectful one-to-one conversation. These rules apply to every call, message and profile, whoever started the chat.

They summarise the platform rules in our full Community Guidelines policy and Terms of Service.

01

Adults 18+ Only

You must be at least 18, or older if the minimum age where you live is higher, to use 1on1Chat. Don’t use it on behalf of anyone else, and don’t let anyone under 18 join your call.

03

No Harassment, Threats or Hate

  • No insults, abusive language or bullying, on camera or in messages.
  • No threats of violence or harm, and no blackmail of any kind.
  • No discrimination or attacks based on race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation or disability.
  • Don’t contact someone again through a new account after they have blocked or reported you.

04

No Scams, Impersonation or Money Requests

  • Don’t ask anyone for money, gift cards, bank transfers or crypto, whatever the story.
  • No fake profiles, stolen photos or pretending to be a real person you are not.
  • Don’t claim to be 1on1Chat staff or send payment instructions outside the app.
  • No advertising, spam, links to other apps or sites, or sharing contact details to move people elsewhere.

05

Nothing Involving Minors

Any sexual or exploitative content or behaviour involving a minor is strictly prohibited, including asking someone who appears to be under 18 to chat, show themselves or share images.

If you think the person on your call is under 18, end the call and report the profile. If a child may be at risk, also tell local police or report it to the NCMEC CyberTipline.

07

Profiles, Photos and Names

Avatars, profile photos and videos, and display names must not include:

  • Nudity, sexual acts or sexual innuendo
  • Anyone who is or appears to be a minor
  • Violence, blood, weapons or drugs
  • Hate, discrimination or insults
  • Advertising or other apps’ details
  • Phone numbers or other contact info

Content that breaks these rules may be rejected or removed. The full list is in the Community Guidelines policy.

08

How to Report a Violation

  1. End the call first. You don’t owe anyone an explanation.
  2. Open Call history from the clock icon on the match screen and tap the person to open their profile.
  3. Tap the menu at the top right of the profile and choose Report. You need to be signed in.
  4. Pick one to three reasons, describe what happened and attach up to three screenshots, then tap Submit Report.

For problems that don’t belong to a single profile, such as someone pretending to be 1on1Chat, contact support. If you or someone else is in danger, contact local emergency services.

09

Blocking and What Happens After a Violation

Blocking is yours to use. Tap Block in the profile menu to limit unwanted contact with that person; you can undo it with Unblock or from Blocked List in your settings. You don’t need to report someone to block them.

Reports are reviewed by the 1on1Chat team. Depending on how serious or repeated a violation is, the platform may reject or remove content, give a warning, restrict features, temporarily suspend an account or close it permanently. Timing and outcome depend on the case.

Questions about a restriction on your own account can be sent to support.
